Ciudades Sustentables / Vandkunsten

La interactividad que plantea este video a través de las capas de información representan una planimetría urbana de manera mucho más clara y legible. Al ver el video, la zonificación del espacio público, las vías de circulación, y las áreas verdes de los espacios se hacen evidentes, mientras que hacen un gran zoom de las principales ideas. El video muestra tres diferentes ideas del masterplan: la reutilización de un astillero en Suecia, la redefinición de un espacio recreativo en Dinamarca en un intento de integración mejorando la zona con la entorno, y la renovación de un centro de la ciudad suburbana en Dinamarca.

En los años 30, Reykjavík, la capital de Islandia, se caracterizaba por el humo que salía de las chimeneas y que producía una nube oscura sobre la ciudad. Décadas más tarde, un concurso reunió a algunos de sus habitantes para buscar una forma de encausar este calor atrapado bajo tierra.

En 1928 los primeros agujeros para generar agua caliente fueron taladrados en Laugardalur en el centro de la ciudad. En los años siguientes aumentó el número de agujeros y actualmente son aproximadamente 50. Los más profundos tienen casi 2 kilómetros y producen agua caliente hasta de 80°c .

En 1990, las autoridades a cargo de la calefacción geotérmica de la ciudad lanzaron un concurso abierto para rediseñar los pozos de agua caliente. El proyecto ganador fue el de los arquitectos Pálmar Kristmundsson y Björn Skaptason, el que se está construyendo a lo largo de los años en los diferentes pozos existentes. Sus estructuras señalizarán la utilización de los recursos naturales que desarrolla la ciudad y serán parte de su imagen.
